I spent spring break of 2021 traveling the world and time traveling. All this from my cozy house in a very cold place. Didn't have to pack ,buy tickets or be in an airport. When twice across the country and even when to Everest . France and England, of all the trips this was the worst. I wanted a cute little story about the English country side and l8fe in a small village . what I got was a sad old tale of money woes, lost chances and lots of negative talk about old people. Old people who are called wrinkles and made sure you don't buy a house where they live. The funny part of that is they bought a cottage from a pair of wrinkles. The book also read like a bad travel log not much better the the ones you get from AAA. And I just loved all the talk of wood cravings . too much of the writers bitter attitude can out, so much so it turned me off to even thinking about the English country side. Another thing about the book is her need to find a house in a village what looked old and had to have quirk people but not a tourist trap. It sounds likeOne to me. She also laughs and mocks people with the view of being better than them , people can't help growing old and not being perfect as she. I'm very sorry for the people in the village where she has the house. Hope they are as good as she is, or I guess the next book will be laughing at them. Plus I now k ow for sure perfect people eat perfect food. One more dish or lamb and I would have become a vegan. My one wish is that she lives long enough to be a wrinkly old person so people can treat her as bad as she treated them. Worst book of the trip. So if you like boring books and dusty travel logs this buds for you. Big waste of time . bf glad to be out of this book.
